Meet our Accountants, Commercial and Financial Managers.

Colin Johnson

Commercial Manager

Colin has over 40 years experience in the construction industry which has involved both on and off-site management covering aspects ranging from M&E installation and supervision to finalising accounts. He has also been involved in estimating and winning contracts having spent many years running his own mechanical installation company.  During these years Colin gained extensive experience in all aspects of contract management including invaluable man management skills.

Colin and his team are responsible for managing the valuations and invoicing process.  This involves the production of accurate valuations which are issued to clients on time to enable invoices to be raised at the due date.   He also works very closely with the project operational teams including the senior contracts manager to ensure any financial issues on individual contracts are dealt with efficiently.  

In his spare time, Colin enjoys golf and horse racing and is the secretary and treasurer of a local, grass roots football club.

Chris Fagan

Senior Commercial Manager

Chris is a Senior Commercial Manager with Lesterose Builders and has nearly 40 years experience in the Construction Industry having originally trained with a Main Contractor in Hampshire & Dorset as a Quantity Surveyor. After a spell working abroad as a PQS in Brussels, Belgium, he relocated back to the UK and joined a Main Contractor in London, as a Contractors Quantity Surveyor working on various major projects in central London. For the last 30 years Chris has worked for various Brickwork Contractors, responsible for tender submissions and subsequent post contract commercial duties, seeing each contract from tender stage through to Final Account. He has been involved on numerous projects working throughout England, Scotland and Wales, and his strengths are his reliable, professional manner, together with his non-confrontational approach have served him well throughout his career.

Outside work Chris continues as an active member of his local running club, however with 10 Marathons under his belt, his running is now more of a social pastime than chasing any more silverware. His other hobbies include hill walking, reading, travel and cooking.

Adrian Crowley

Commercial Manager

Adrian has over 30 years wide ranging experience in the industry.  He has worked in various roles over the years including site surveyor, quantity surveyor, commercial manager but has also spent many years as a director and managing director of both groundworks and property development businesses.  This experience obviously brings a diverse set of skills which are of huge benefit to Lesterose and our clients.

His current accountabilities include tendering and surveying on a wide range of brickwork and builderswork contracts for example Romford Hospital, Canary Wharf and One Hyde Park.

Outside of work, Adrian is keen on the outdoor life and his interests include walking, cycling and gliding when the opportunity arises !

Sam O’Keeffe

Sam O’Keeffe

Sam is a young and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor who joined Lesterose in 2008.  Since that time he has learnt the ropes via a combination of studying a BSc in Quantity Surveying together with extensive “on the job” experience. His career has already involved him in high profile projects such as Broadgate Circle and 20 Fenchurch Street.

He currently gets involved with tenders, monthly valuations, monitoring on site progress and reviewing drawings to establish changes and variations.  Sam is keen, pro active and gets on very well with people.

Outside of work Sam loves his sport and regularly plays football but he also enjoys watching rugby.


Matthew Blackwood

Commercial Manager

Matt started his career in the construction industry as an Assistant QS with Lesterose in 2010 going on to graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BSc(Hons) in Quantity Surveying and then quickly progressing to his current role of Commercial Manager.  Benefiting from early hands-on experience he has developed a fundamental knowledge of various commercial disciplines associated with specialist subcontracting together with fair level of technical knowledge.

Responsibilities include overseeing all commercial operations, account settlement, competitive tendering and procurement, cash flow reporting, cost analysis, interim valuations, risk assessment and value engineering.
